Professional experience

Growing up in the suburbs of Bruges, Franek became fascinated by football at a young age. His love for the game began as a Club Brugge supporter, inspired by iconic goalkeeper Birger Jensen. This passion eventually led him to a professional career in scouting.

At Club Brugge, Franek started with regional scouting and worked his way up to elite football. He was responsible for assessing players between U7 and U12, working closely with Frédéric De Boever, then the first team’s goalkeeping coach. This collaboration was a pivotal moment in Franek’s career, where he learned the intricacies of goalkeeping analysis, such as position recognition, reaction speed and 3D analysis.

Seys, Sabbe and Spileers

During his fourteen years at Club Brugge, Franek discovered more than thirty talents, including Joaquin Seys, Kyriani Sabbe and Jorne Spileers. His approach, based on observation and memorisation, allowed him to identify and develop players who are successful today.

Franek's vision on scouting

Franek’s strength as a scout lies in his consistency and commitment. He builds long-term relationships with players and their families, that makes him an essential link in the scouting process. His motto “Act normal, that’s hard enough,” reflects his down-to-earth and honest approach to the profession.

Franek's role at Claes Agency

Franek came into contact with Claes Agency on March 3, 2024. He immediately felt a strong synergy with the team, driven by a shared passion for transparency and quality.

At Claes Agency, Franek focuses on assessing both young talents and experienced players. In addition to scouting, he is a trusted person for players, motivating and supporting them in all aspects of their career. He works closely with other team members, such as Johnny, Axel and Dimitri, to create an environment in which players can excel.
