From the bench in England’s second tier to the Champions League

Until mid-January, Wout Faes went through a period with limited playing time at Leicester City in the Championship. There were weeks in which match minutes were scarce, but during which he continued to work extra hard every day.

With his official move to AS Monaco on January 20, that situation changed. He quickly regained playing time and found his rhythm again. Since his arrival, he has played 749 minutes — more than 83% of the available minutes — and started 9 out of 10 matches.

Only a few weeks later, he was on the pitch for the full 90 minutes in the Champions League against PSG. A strong contrast and, above all, a clear shift in sporting context.

The first weeks in his new environment he experienced strong trust of the coach and staff, alongside clear agreements within the sporting structure. This resulted not only in more playing time, but also in greater intensity, responsibility and involvement within the team.

Behind steps like these there is always more than a single match or decision.
They are the result of hard work, timing, strategic reflection and the right decision at the right time. At Claes Agency, we remain closely involved, supporting and guiding him as he continues building the next steps of his career.
